Exploding billboards...

A courier company in New Zealand, delightfully named 'Deadline', made a billboard poster site explode into a 6 meter fireball. Their aim was to promote their brand and their promise that when they give you a time, they mean it.

The billboard was fitted with a very large count down digital clock and ran the headline 'this message will self-destruct in exactly...'. When the clock hit zero the billboard self-destructed in a huge explosion created with dry powder, strobe grenades and smoke bombs.

The final moments of the count down and the explosion was watched by large crowds of people on the street and via a web cam on the www.self-destruct.co.nz website which provided a live video feed. The country's media and TV stations picked up the story and the idea literally......caught fire!
